    Strollers
While progress is good, it can be a pain for the baby gear shopping mama when it means product manufacturers release new items that are only slightly different from older ones. Hardly discernable to the naked eye, the changes are sometimes not even noted on the box or manufacturer's own Website.
So you no longer have to get tangled in the missing and misinformation on the Web, we've compiled a handy reference guide to the differences between similar, but different, models below.

Difference between 2006 and 2007 Zooper Hula?

The Zooper Tango (Double) has been completely redesigned for 2007.
  • 2006 - Ovoid tubing, single canopy, bench seat, 32" wide, fabric covered bumper bars, not car seat compatible.
  • 2007 - Flat rectangular tubing, narrower at 29" wide, separated seating and canopies, plastic bumper bars, car seat compatible, parent cup holder added, front wheel connection changed from retaining pin and plastic to die cast metal.

Difference between 2006 and 2007 Zooper Twist?

Difference between 2006 and 2007 Zooper Waltz?
The Zooper Waltz is the Single version of the Zooper Tango.
Changes include: Ovoid tubing changed to flat tubing. Fabric covered bumper bar changed to plastic bumper bar. Parent Cup holder added, die cast front wheel connections. Tango and Waltz are both completely new, even though they function and look similar to old versions. The changes affect quality and durability.

  • Difference between 2005 & 2006 Britax Companion?
  • Difference between Graco's SnugRide & SnugRide2?
  • Difference between Graco's SnugRide & SafeSeat?
  • Difference between Combi Centre EX, DX & ST?
  • Difference between Peg Perego's Primo Viaggio and Primo Viaggio SIP?

    Difference between 2005 & 2006 Britax Companion?
Nothing except the color! The 2005 frame and base is a white/light gray. The 2006 frame and base is black.

    Difference between Graco's SnugRide & SnugRide2?
The weight and height limit was increased on all SnugRides made since 2005. Technically all new SnugRide models are now SnugRide2, although some stores list the product name as "SnugRide2" and some just list "SnugRide". To be sure, look at the model number. Model numbers of the SnugRide2s all end in a "2."

New SnugRide2 models have a weight limit of 22 pounds and height limit of 29 inches. Older SnugRide models have a weight limit of 20 pounds and height limit of 26 inches.

Difference between Graco's SnugRide & SafeSeat?
Graco's new SafeSeat has a higher weight and height limit than the SnugRide (see chart below). It also weighs more and is larger. The SafeSeat also has a few extra features including an EPS energy-absorbing foam liner, 180-degree rotating sun canopy and a height-adjustable stay-in-car base.

Model Seat Weight Weight Limit Height Limit Width Height
    SnugRide2 7.2 lbs 22 lbs 29" 17.5" 24.2"
    SafeSeat Step 1 10 lbs 30 lbs 32" 18.3" 16.5"

Difference between Combi Centre EX, DX & ST?
In Combi world, the ST is a standard, lower price, less feature model. The DX is a deluxe model. And the EX is an exclusive model, identical to the DX except that it is sold only at Babies R Us.

There is no difference between the Combi Centre EX and DX except in color choice.

The Combi Centre ST is a cheaper car seat with the same height and weight limits as the DX/EX, but because it is missing the EPS energy-absorbing foam, it weighs 1.3 pounds less. The only other difference is that the DX/EX has an easier system for adjusting harness height and comes with an infant body pillow.

Difference between Peg Perego's Primo Viaggio and Primo Viaggio SIP?
The new "SIP" acronym attached the Primo Viaggio models starting in 2006 stands for "Side Impact Protection", the biggest safety feature improvement on the models. As you might guess, Primo Viaggio's from 2001 - 2005 do not have side impact protection. In fact, Primo Viaggio SIP is a complete redesign of the previous model, so much so that many SIPs don't fit on universal infant car seat adapters for strollers, including the Bugaboos. The Primo Viaggio SIPs won't fit on older Peg Perego strollers either. Primo Viaggios from 2001 - 2005 will fit strollers from that year, but as of 2006, the new Peg Perego strollers were designed for the new Primo Viaggio SIPs.

The Primo Viaggio SIP also has a higher height limit, accommodating babies up to 30 inches, up from 26 inches. All those improvements did make for a larger and heavier seat though. The SIP is 3.3 pounds heavier than its predecessor.
