The Parkpad is one of their most popular items. It is basically a blanket that has a soft furry top, and a water resistant nylon bottom. Generously sized at 52 by 48, it is large enough for two small children. It comes in many trendy patterns including flowers, various camouflages, and animal prints. There is also a plain pink or blue blanket for a simpler look. The Parkpad is very soft and durable. It is machine washable, and stain resistant. Even after several washes the top fabric stayed soft, and did not fade. Stains are easily washed away, but the bold patterns help hide any that may remain. The nylon back will melt in the drier so it must be hang dried. This could be an issue if you have a small laundry room, or do not have a clothesline for hanging it out. Fortunately, it dries rather quickly on an inside drying rack. The nylon backing is water resistant, but by no means water proof. It keeps clothes dry on slightly damp surfaces such as dewy grass, but will not hold up to rain soaked grass. Also, spills on the top go strait through to the surface beneath the blanket. The Parkpad offers about the same level of wetness protection as a thick quilt. However, unlike the quilt, it folds compactly for easy travel. There is a small nylon strap with a Velcro closure that keeps it securely folded. It is easy to carry, and would fit in a large tote bag. Although less bulk does mean less padding to cushion little bottoms on uneven or rough ground. Lastly lets talk price. At $60 it is rather expensive. The decision to purchase it really depends on what you’ll be using it for. The compactness makes it perfectly suited for trips to the beach, outdoor concerts, or sporting events. It is probably a little expensive if you are just looking for a clean place for baby to play on. For the fashion minded mom with a large pocket book, 98% Angel also offers matching, and really practical Parkbags for $99. These tote style bags are specially designed to carry the Parkpad in a separate compartment on the bottom. Thus, keeping all your other personal and baby items clean and dry.
