My daughter loved and still is in love with this cup. The elephant in the room when it comes to this cup is most certainly its price. Yes, it is pricey but we have found it to be worth every penny. It is one of the only great cups that is free from the chemical Bisphenol-A. This is a chemical that can be harmful to your children and is found in most all polycarbonate plastics. The BornFree is intended for children 9-18 months old and is available in several different colors. It is a training cup that uses a hard spout and a low vacuum valve. Any parent who has suffered through the night with a baby who is suffering from spiked temperatures and aching ears realizes the importance of this. The free flow of liquid from the BornFree drinking cup helps to reduce the risk of ear infections. The cup is very easy to hold and has removable handles for older children. It is also easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. It is important to note that this is the BornFree drinking cup and not the trainer or sippy cup. The drinking cup is not leak free. Therefore, if your child needs a sippy or likes to shake their bottles, this is not the cup for you – instead you may want to consider using the BornFree sippy cup. Also, be prepared to know that this cup will not be stored haphazardly in your diaper bag or stroller. We had no problems with this as we didn’t allow our daughter to use the cup unless she was at the table as we wanted to transition her using a regular cup. One huge bonus of this cup was that it has measurements in ounces on the side. I have not found another cup that includes this feature. This was so great because our daughter had special dietary considerations and this was very helpful when we needed to mix prescription formulas. Also, it was helpful to know how much she was drinking when she was ill. We love this cup and it gets our highest recommendations.
