Daisy was launched in May 2006 as a feminine spinoff of DadGear, the widely popular men's diaper bag company. Daisy bags incorporate the same great features as DadGear but with a more feminine and slightly smaller styling. These bags are sporty and functional with a few innovative details that set it apart from the vast number of diaper bags available on the market today. At first glance, this bag doesn't look like a diaper bag but just a regular, well-constructed messenger bag. For those who don't want their bags screaming "mommy" (because your kids do that already) this is the bag for you. The first thing we noticed with the Daisy Messenger Bag was the extremely durable construction. It seems that every stitch and every zipper was paid attention to. This is a bag that will last you a while! The first innovative feature is the quick access wipes window. Under the flap is an opening to give mom quick access to a refillable wipes container at a moment's notice. As moms, we all know how frustrating it can be when a situation calls for a quick wipie and we have to search to the bottom of the bag. Daisy Diaper bags pride themselves on their "'hands free' approach which allows you to change, feed, and entertain your child without ever having to set the bag down." This is where the second innovative feature comes in. This bag has an optional three point harness for a secure fit so the bag won't slide off your shoulder when picking up your child. We have to admit, it took us a bit to figure out how to use the three point harness, but once we did, we love that the bag doesn't fall off our shoulder. With other bags, we have struggled many times to keep our diaper bags on our shoulder when we bend down only to have our diaper bag slip off and fall to the ground usually tipping over and spilling it's contents. A third interesting feature is the two large side bottle pockets that are accessible from either the outside or the inside of the bag. The bottle pockets completely zip closed from the outside which keeps this diaper bag from screaming "diaper bag" with exposed baby bottles. The front flap is removable for easy cleaning but we aren't sure that is very important on a diaper bag. Daisy was serious about keeping this bag closed so they made it with two closing clasps plus two thick strips of Velcro that secure the front flap closed. We think the Velcro is overkill plus it's noisy. The Velcro will surely wake any sleeping baby in the vicinity when you open this bag. There are many pockets on this messenger bag to keep all the baby essentials organized. On the outside: two bottle pockets, a zippered pocket on the front flap, two front long pockets on either side of the wipes container for lotions and creams, and a large rear zippered pocket that holds the included changing pad and is big enough for magazines or many coloring books. On the inside: two pockets for items such as diapers or extra wipes and access to the two bottle pockets. Since the construction of the Messenger Bag is top-notch, you will notice that it does add weight to the bag itself. The bag is a bit heavier than your standard diaper bag but the quality can make it worth the extra weight. Since the Daisy Diaper Bag looks nothing like a diaper bag from the outside, you will be able to use this bag past your diaper bag years. The durable construction and innovative features make this a diaper bag to consider.
