Many moms swear by an infant car seat from birth and love to be matchy-matchy with their car seat and stroller. The Eddie Bauer Endeavor Travel System is a full-size, packed-with-features stroller paired with a matching Eddie Bauer SureFit Infant Car Seat. The Endeavor is packed with convenience, comfort and sturdiness. The Endeavor is very newborn-friendly with a flat recline, a great removable newborn support and the ability to fold the foot rest up to turn the seat into an infant bed. It has a high weight limit, accepting children up to 50 lbs. The seat is roomy and rather wide to accommodate bigger children comfortably. There is a 5-point padded harness that we found very easy to adjust. The seat has very easy-to-do one-handed recline with 4 positions including completely flat. There are two cup holders and a small snack tray for baby and a great parent tray for mom. The parent tray has two deep cup holders and a covered compartment for cell phones, keys or personal items. The baby tray also flips open for easier access to get a child in and out of the seat. There is a GIGANTIC basket underneath that will not only hold a very large diaper bag but many other baby essentials as well. The basket has a unique spring down access that allows you to push the back of the basket down to access its contents easier when the seat is fully reclined. The Endeavor has a nice size canopy complete with peek-a-boo window that rotates all the way forward until it hits the baby snack tray to block the sun or wind from baby’s face. (Note: When the canopy is rotated down to the baby bar, there is a space at the top that exposes your baby’s head. The canopy fabric doesn’t cover from parent tray to baby tray.) The Endeavor maneuvers easily with its large 8 1/2" front wheels, 9 1/2" rear wheels and front wheel suspension providing baby with a smooth ride. Even over grass, playground mulch and small rocks, this stroller has no problem. The wheels in back lock with a one-touch braking bar. Folding the stroller is easy with a 1-hand 'fold n' stand' process. The fold is so easy that there isn’t even any bending over required. You squeeze the large button on the handlebar and push down and the stroller folds into a standing fold. And it even has an automatic lock! It’s that easy! But since this is not a small stroller, we found it to be pretty bulky even when folded. If you have a small trunk, you might want to check the dimensions before buying it. And weighing in at a whopping 28 lbs, you will not be tossing this stroller into and out of your trunk easily. Know that with any full-size travel system you are going to get a lot of weight. These workhorse strollers are stocked with features and stability and almost always bring with them a lot of poundage â€' so the Endeavor is no exception. Unfolding the stroller is a cinch. Push the same large button on the handlebar to unlock the automatic lock, push down on the snack tray as you lift on the handle and it opens. Simple. We are glad to report that with all the weight that the Endeavor comes with, it also comes with sturdiness. We found the Endeavor to be very sturdy and we had no problems using the included SureFit car seat with it. The car seat snaps into places easily without any additional adapters. The car seat is also easily removed from the stroller with one lever on the back of the seat. So, there is no problem pulling the lever with one hand while holding and pulling up the infant seat with the other hand. The SureFit Car Seat is Eddie Bauer’s new infant car seat that is only available as part of this travel system. This infant car seat weighs in at 9 lbs without the base, so it’s not the lightest seat on the market but not the heaviest either. It can accommodate babies from 4-22 lbs. We love that there is a specially designed insert for smaller babies making the seat accommodate as little as a 4 lb baby. This is 1 lb lighter weight limit than most other infant seats. It also has an increased seat pan depth that makes for a more comfortable fit. In other words, it cradles the baby better. The seat has a canopy but fully open the canopy stops about an inch or two shy of the handle. We would like to see it extend a bit further. We found the base to be easy to install in the vehicle and there is even a level on each side of the seat to help with proper installation. Retailing for $249, the Eddie Bauer Travel System is reasonably priced for a stroller and car seat combo. Even though we don’t love the weight of the stroller (though we tend to expect it with a travel system), we love that it’s loaded with features. The Endeavor is a great workhorse stroller that can take you and your baby from birth through your stroller years.
