I can take a shower! I can get a few chores done! I can even read a chapter of a novel….. All while my little guy plays happily in his ExerSaucer. Now I know that experts advise against kids spending too much time in these devices and I am certainly not advocating that your child spend the day in here, but when you need a few minutes to get things done or a little bit of “me” time, nothing beats this endlessly entertaining toy. The Triple Fun is in a bright blue pond motif and all of the toys are related with fish, turtles and ducks being the main themes. For newborns, the toy comes with a mat that you can use with the detachable arch off of the ExerSaucer. The mat is small and is best used either when baby is very young and not moving around much or as a portable travel mat (which is what we used it for). Stage 2 is the traditional ExerSaucer. At around age 4 to 5 months, when babies want to be able to sit up and move around more but can’t, they really love this toy. The hanging seat provides good support for wobbly babies (as long as they have good head support) and they love the freedom to spin around the circle. As their legs get stronger, the built in springs help them to really jump around. There are eleven different toys that use different skills and encourage children to move around the circle exploring them all. If by some chance your child becomes bored of these toys, all EvenFlo products have an interchangeable toy system that allows you to swap toys out with certain highchairs, strollers etc. Or in the more likely case that your child can’t go anywhere without one of these great toys, you can bring it along with you. The light and activity toys can work as a stand alone toy by unfastening the Velcro that holds them on. The easy removal of the toys facilitates cleaning under the toys. Also, the seat is easy to remove and throw in the wash. Although my son plays with all of the toys, as he has moved up in age and ability, he finds different activities to focus on as different skill levels are mastered. Also, there are 3 different areas that have lights or music. You can control their volume and on/off switches separately which is a nice feature. The music is pretty varied although some of the noises are mildly irritating to a parent and I find the volume to be quite loud. There are different height settings and one complaint that I have is that 30” is the maximum height recommended by the manufacturer. My son is not even 7 months and he is 30” tall already and starting to outgrow it. Like many children’s toys, this one did take my husband some time to set up and a few choice words were had trying to figure out how to put the legs together. Overall, he rated it as a “moderate” in the assembly difficulty. Stage 3 for this product allows you to take it apart and reassemble as an S-shape that will allow a young walker to walk around the edges and still be able to play with all of the toys. The manufacturer claims that this toy is easy to fold down and take with you, but I find that it is pretty bulky even to move easily from room to room. Although there are many less expensive models, the sheer number of activities coupled with the 3-stage features make this a worthwhile purchase that your child will enjoy from birth until the toddler years.
