The blue plastic tub has a cute Ocean design on the hammock that is bright and colorful, a drain and padded sides for parents to rest their elbows. When infants are very small, the hammock feature and attached pillow cradles babies perfectly and makes washing them a breeze. After washing, the water can be drained from the tub and the baby rinsed with clean water. This makes bathing easy for even the newest and most nervous of new parents! The straps on the hammock are adjustable so you can submerge more of the baby's body as he or she gets a bit older. The lower straps on the tub can be lowered all the way so that an older infant at the pre-sitting stage can be reclining in the water but still have their head safely cradled above water. Children who have more head support can also sit without the hammock in the 'shallow end'. I found that this is a great place to seat babies to rinse them off or to wash their hair, although, the height on the narrow end is not really tall enough for some babies to recline comfortably, even with the hammock. Once a baby reaches the sitting stage, the hammock can be removed and the child can sit in the 'deep end'. One complaint about this tub is that the bottom of the tub is very slippery and does not have a pad on it so that a newly sitting baby might have the tendency to slide around and tip over. I found this to be true even while I kept a hand securely around my baby. However, now that he is less wobbly and his legs are a bit longer to brace himself we are having less trouble with this. This tub also comes with an attached plastic fish ring toy which can be used alone or as a link to attach other toys. Also included are two cups, one a solid cup and the other with holes, that are prefect for rinsing and for playing. My son loves for us to fill the second cup and give him 'showers'. This tub is not collapsing or folding but does stash into a closet or next to the sink. A couple of other mild complaints about the tub that I have noticed: after repeated use the hammock starts to smell sour, even with rinsing and hanging to dry. The directions suggest machine washing and this did help a lot. Also, there is a curved, plastic ridge on the bottom of the tub for supporting babies in the laying position. This ridge is not padded and while it did not bother my child at all, I have heard other parents mention it as a negative. Overall, even with some flaws, this is a great product that I would recommend (on the basis of the hammock alone!) for baby's first bath right up until your child is ready to graduate to a big kid's tub.
