Full Review: see below   Lowest Price:  $36.99   (from 1 sellers) Full Review: The Kaboost Portable Chair Booster is exactly what the name says. It is a chair booster. Unlike bulky traditional booster seats, this simple contraption goes on the bottom of the chair literally boosting it off the ground. It is perfect for older children who are not quite big enough to sit comfortably at the table, but who don't want to sit in the 'baby seat'. With two heights it puts the chair seat at the same height as traditional booster seats (3.75 or 4.5 inches). It also holds up to 300 pounds so older children can use it. It is lightweight, and very easy to use with any four-legged chair. The Kaboost has four spring-loaded arms that are pulled out around each chair leg. It fits chairs that have a diagonal leg distance of 19.5-30 inches, and works with both square and round chair legs. It could easily follow your child to grandmas or the baby sitters. The Kaboost manufacturers suggest using it at a restaurant, but you might look a little strange bending over to install it in public. Plus, do you really want to be that close to a public floor? This chair booster is safer than it might seem. It has non-slip rubber feet that prevent the chair from sliding. This protects your child from falls, and your floors from scratches. However, it also makes it difficult to scoot the chair up to the table once your child is seated. I had to pick up the entire chair, with my daughter in it, and move it forward. The booster stayed firmly attached, but it sure was heavy. The booster also makes chairs more stable, and tip resistant, by increasing the size of the base. It is best used with children old enough to sit unassisted in a chair, and who can climb down safely on their own. Since the Kaboost just lifts up a regular chair which has no restraint or belt system, we wouldn't recommend it for younger toddlers because they have the potential to fall a greater distance to the floor. After safety, the looks and convenience of a product are most important. I have to admit that this product is not very attractive. It is made of plastic, and the bright green color isn't likely to match anyone's dining area. It does also come in 'Chocolate' and 'Natural', but they are only slightly less glaring than the green. However, I don't know many booster seats that aren't brightly colored either. I do like that unlike booster seats, the chair can still be pushed up completely underneath the table with the Kaboost attached. This means no more chairs sticking out in the middle of the room, but the fact that one chair back is higher off the ground than the others is difficult to miss. Despite the lack of design in the interior-decorating department I prefer the Kaboost to traditional booster seats. It is more portable and simpler to use. My nearly 2 ½ year old loves sitting in a chair like everyone else. At around $40 it is about the same price as other quality booster seats.
