Slightly smaller than a messenger bag, the Darling is the perfect size for mom’s who prefer to travel lighter but still want to bring along essentials like an entire change of clothes. While most diaper bags claim to be easy to wipe clean, most do sport a grain that will in fact not surrender the grimiest messes. Allow a bottle to curdle and explode in a hot car and you’ll know what we’re talking about. The fabric on Lexie Barnes bags, however, is a tight enough, slick enough surface that we really could clean it quite well. It’s softer and nicer to carry though than other vinyl covered choices. We also love the extra rugged bottom since our bags kiss the asphalt more often than not. The Darling is comfortable to carry thanks to a cute, coordinating padded strap. We love the mesh pockets on the side – perfectly sized for even wide neck bottles. The mesh is actually a great touch, as it saves the bag from extra bulk when the pockets are empty, but allows you to easily see when you’re toting a bottle (believe us when we tell you, you will forget you’ve stashed one in the side pocket more than once). Other great features include a carrying handle on the top of the bag for easy lifting and two additional straps for stroller hanging, umbrella toting or even to strap the bag to your luggage. There are more than enough pockets both inside and out. Our only wish is that the outside pockets had a secure close. They are open-topped which can lead to lost items should you ever find your bag tipped upside down, as we often do. Our favorite thing about Lexie Barnes bags is the patterns, and they don’t disappoint on the Darling. The contrasting black accents and colorful panels make for a fun, fun bag. In fact, the Darling is so fun to look at and carry, it literally makes us happy every time we see it. If you’re looking for a stylish diaper bag that isn’t too giant but also not too small, the Lexie Barnes Darling is a perfect fit.
