We're outdoorsy, sure, but we'd prefer it if our diaper bag didn't make us look like an Outward Bound instructor. We hate straps that slip off our shoulder and like to be hands-free, so we're big fans of backpack diaper bags, but were craving a sizable, but stylish one. We found what we were looking for in the Lexie Barnes Duchess bag. Lexie Barnes seems to have taken 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' to heart, as all of their diaper bags are sized 'just right.' We've had to pass on more than one beautiful bag because it was too small or too big, but Lexie Barnes bags are both handsome and well-proportioned. The Duchess is no exception. It's literally the size of a regular school backpack - perfect for stocking with baby essentials. The straps are well, well padded and the whole thing is very comfortable to carry. Pockets are plentiful and well placed, both inside and out. We love that Lexie Barnes uses mesh for the side bottle pockets, as it keeps the bag from bulking up. The pockets have drawstring tops and can accommodate the widest-mouthed bottles. The Duchess is made of the magic Lexie Barnes weather-proof, easily wipe-able, but still soft fabric. And we seriously dig the patterns. What is more fun than carrying a bag with mod Dutch tulips or Hawaiian flowers? Not much. The Duchess includes a changing pad, as well as extra little touches including a hidden pocket, a top carrying handle, and two accessory straps for stroller hanging or snapping just about anything onto your bag. As far as backpack diaper bags go, the Duchess is a royal dream.
