Do you spend a lot of time traveling and or outside with your child? Do you not have enough room for a PackNPlay or get tired of lugging yours around? The T2 may be just what you are looking for! This lightweight, portable travel bed is easy to take along with its own carry bag. You can use it instead of unknown hotel cribs, take it to the grandparents instead of a heavier PackNPlay and use it all summer long as a comfortable place for your baby to nap while you are at the beach, on a picnic or camping. It looks like a small playpen with a zip up top (or if you are familiar with dogs—it looks a LOT like a fabric dog crate). The sides are all mesh which helps provide good ventilation. The air mattress is great because it is very insulating against cold ground and it self inflates once open. We found that a regular crib sheet with elastic on all four sides fit the mattress snugly enough to use safely. If your does not, we found that using the type of clip that attaches kids mitten to their coat under the mattress to hold the sides of the sheet together in the middle will also do the job without being uncomfortable. Although setting it up the first few times can be tricky, it is very quick once you get the hang of it. All of the poles are pre-connected with an elastic guide rope and are pre-threaded through the fabric. You just need to get the poles facing in the correct direction and fitted together and then snap the fabric to the poles. Once set up, it is very sturdy. There are even included stakes to securely attach it to the ground. You can leave the top unzipped or you can zip it up which provides 80% UV protection and shade and is great for keeping out insects if you are outdoors. We were slightly bothered by the fact the pocket for the mesh top is inside the pen rather than on the outside so that a child could grab it but you could easily leave it hanging on the outside. The company claims it is suitable for children up to the age of 3 or so with its 48' length but at only 20' wide it might be too narrow for some larger children. There is enough room in there for a child up to about a year to even sit up in there and play with a few toys (by that time, most kids aren't going to hang out in any play pen unless they are sleeping anyway). At $149.95, we do think that is a bit pricey. However, it is a high quality product that is very useful and we would pay that amount for it again. Overall, we really recommend this as a great portable travel bed for an infant.
