The innovative design allows for the baby's feet to be placed in individual pockets and the top half of the child to be wrapped up swaddling style. The manufacturer claim that this product can be used in a variety of ways— in an infant car seat, stroller, or carrier. I liked the nice soft fleece material and found it very cozy and the satin trim provided a nice finish. Also, there are lots of different color choices and a variety of weights (including a light cotton for warmer weather.) The regular fleece would be a good weight for fall or spring, but I think it would not be enough padding for a winter baby. The TeddyToes also comes in two sizes: 0-6 months and 6-18 months. Although I applaud the products interesting approach, I found that it fell a bit short of its goal. I tried the size 1 (0-6 months) out on both a newborn baby and a 5 month old and it fit neither! My little newborn nephew (a good eight pound baby) was just swamped by it and his legs did not really go down into the leg openings and he was mostly just swaddled. My 5 month old could not get his chubby little legs into the leg holes and was too tall overall to be swaddled. I realize that this is the opposite ends of the spectrum, however, as a product designed for 0-6 months I felt it should have fit at least one of those two children. I think if you have the right size child (2-3 months and average build), you might enjoy using this product more. Even though the sizing wasn't perfect, I found that it was very easy to snap onto a stroller or infant car seat and could be removed with the baby still in it as stated. I also liked the fact that you place your car seat restraint straps directly on the child as is recommended for safety (Although I will add the obligatory note that manufacturers of car seats do not recommend that you place anything between the straps and your child OR the seat and your child for safety reasons). I did not find it easy to use with a baby carrier and tried it with both an Ergo and a Baby Bjorn and could not get the legs to hang right. Also, not all babies will appreciate having their arms swaddled while also confined to a carrier. They also make a matching knot hat that is just adorable. It stretches to fit and stayed on well. Overall, this is a clever product that doesn't quite meet my expectations. You may want to consider a different type of car seat blanket if you are looking for a wider range of use.
