Yes, the funky tree snaps on and doesn't come off. My baby and his friends have sat in this chair and have all been entertained by the toy. And with a very active little boy, it's a welcome Worst: It's bulky. It does fold... somewhat. It's just so insignificant that we just leave it opened. So it requires a bit of space near the table to have it unfolded at all times. Full Review: Usually we tend to go for wood toys and gear as much as possible and try to avoid plastics.... Well, people give you gifts you don't get to choose! And while it's sometimes not exactly what you might have wanted, this time we got lucky. We thought we had gotten one of those again, but we took it out of the box, assembled it somewhat easily (but we're handy, so maybe it would be a little harder for people with less ease for assembly). When we put our baby in it, reclined, at 3.5 months old, we were sooooo happy! 3.5 months old is not quite the age to be put in a high chair yet. But since it has 3 levels to recline it was fine all the way down. He could still reach the little turtle that enables the music to go on, and we would spin the "tree" for him. The lights would mesmerize him, the music is very cute so we didn't get annoyed either! We adjusted the height super easily to our table, and now we still use it, he's 11 months old, and hasn't gotten sick of the tree yet. The only thing is the bulk, so you have to have some room. It's not a Hummer either, but it takes a bit of space. The belt is really easily removable to be cleaned. The seat is vinyl so it's also quite easy to clean, the tray is removable and can be put in the dishwasher, and everything is very easy, manageable, and cute. Overall we're very happy with this chair and are happy we were given this instead of what we wanted originally!
