I saw that my friend was able to put her baby down without her crying and I was astounded because I felt like I never put my daughter down. I went out and bought this playmat the next day. We love it. My daughter loves laying on her back and trying to bat the toys. The mat is also padded so it seems comfortable. She can't work the kick pad yet, but that's something new for her to explore later :) The mirror is great for trying to do a little tummy time because she loves her reflection. It's a great buy and worth every penny. Yes, it's a little more expensive than others, but I think it's worth it. The mat is padded so it's comfortable for my daughter to lay on. My daughter loves this playmat. She has had it from 4 weeks until now (4 months). At the beginning, she would just lay there and absorb all around her. Then, mirror and the hanging toys were a hit. At about 3 months, she was able to kick the Kick & Touch pad to play the songs and she LOVED that. Overall, I think I made a really great choice with playmats and we'll definitely use it when we have more children.
