| I absolutely love it!!! by Sadie from Tulsa, OK | Mom Rating:
 | | Best: | | Worst: | | Full Review: I did a lot of research on strollers. I needed a double stroller for my 3 year old and 6 month old. The Valco Runabout Twin is great! It is the only stroller that had individual head covers (canopies), the bar, it can allow a car seat, it has two front swivel wheels, it holds a great deal of weight (up to 90 lbs I think), has an adjustable height handle, individual fully reclinable seats, decent size basket, fully washable seat covers, etc. There is also a ton of pockets for stuff and the storage containers on the back come off (they are zippered) so you can just put stuff in there and go. | | | | Really cool double stroller by Sandy from Buffalo, NY | Mom Rating:
 | | Best: Lots of storage, dual adjustable canopies, dual adjustable seats | | Worst: Heavy (but they all are) | | Full Review: This is a really cool stroller. It's not as wide as some side by side strollers as it fits thru all doorways. I love the sporty look of it. The handle can be adjusted up and down. It's not to hard to fold. Now, this is a big stroller so it takes two steps to fold but it's not hard. Each seat is comfy, has it's own recline and it's own adjustable canopy. The canopies are a nice size. The wheels are like bicycle tires so they make it a really smooth ride. One side accepts a car seat and there are pockets for strorage all over the stroller. One drawback on this stroller is that it's heavy. Most full-size double strollers are heavy though and this is no exception. You do need a little muscle to get it in and out of your trunk. It's not a stroller meant to take many short errands. Overall, a great stroller that looks cool. | | | | Valco Baby Runabout Twin in Stone 2008 by gloucesterglam from Rockport, MA | Mom Rating:
 | | Best: Quality, features and ride | | Worst: Cumbersome when travelling | | Full Review: Like many moms, I am a bit obsessive when shopping for kid's gear. I looked long and hard for a great side-by-side, double stroller that could keep up with my active lifestyle. After researching countless websites and blogs, I went for several test drives. On my list was the Bumbleride Indie Twin, the Bob Revolution Duallie, the Mountain Buggy Urban and the Valco Roundabout. I chose the Valco Roundabout due to its quality, numerous features and handling.
The Bumbleride immediately got nixed from my list. Though it was my favorite online, due to the eye catching color combinations. I immediately was turned off by the poor quality fabric and fact that my 2.5 year old was already maxing out the length of this stroller. She is only 32" tall. The Mountain Buggy got nixed due to having only one sun canopy. And the Bob, while very functional and durable, did not have all the bells and whistles of the Valco, and lacked in comfort. I also need to say I already have a single Bob that has served us quite well, but I wanted something different, with a more features!
The Valco Roundabout is well built and the fabric is quite durable. There and many pockets and places to stash a day's worth of food, blankets, drinks, extra clothes and gear. There are four wheels (more stable than three) and a large metal plate that extends out, keeping your tot's feet from hitting the front tires. This plate also serves as a convenient place for mom to sit and rest. I use it as a perch to breast feed my infant.
The seats easily adjust with one hand anywhere in between upright to nearly flat. I did not use the car seat adapter for my infant, but rather fully reclined the seat and added a foot muff. This accessory is not cheap at $60, but is fully lined in quality polar fleece. The foot muff also has a zip away flap that reveals a mesh liner for airflow if the baby gets warm. The seats are padded and have a child proof locking mechanism. My 2.5 year old often falls asleep and can comfortably nap for two hours while I power walk.
Additional features include a suspension system that is great for bumpy/dirt roads. There are separate sun shades, which works well if you have a baby and toddler. There is storage galore and the two pockets on the rear of the stroller zip off so you can bring your valuables with you if you stop for lunch or a coffee. The handle bar adjusts if someone else want to push that is taller or shorter.
The name tri-mode comes from the fact you can adjust the front wheels to 3 settings: full rotation, partial rotation and no rotation. My infant is only 3 months, so I have not yet jogged any great distance. I have primarily used this stroller for power walking and a couple of day trips. I live along the coast, and many of the roads in my town are in poor condition. The suspension system handeles theses roads quite well.
My only complaint is the lack of a built in cup holder. I did order the cup holder, but it is back ordered. This stroller is quite beastly, and is best kept in a garage, ready for use. It does fold up easily, but is quite large when folded. Not exactly the right stroller for the mall. But great for neighborhood walks or a daytrip to a fair or a park.
Lastly, I found Valco’s website mediocre at best. But the customer service person was quite accommodating. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase and have used almost daily for four months! My daughter's five year old cousin comforatbly fits this stroller, so I am confident I will get several years use from this stroller. For the price, it exceeds the Bob, Mountain Buggy and Bumbleride for overall design and features.
