Baby Jogger has been providing active moms and dads with strollers for more than 24 years. The Baby Jogger Company was born in 1984 when Phil Baechler created the first jogging stroller, making his jogs with his infant son easier and more enjoyable.
The Baby Jogger City Mini is their newest addition to the very popular City Series. This lightweight stroller has the quality that we've come to expect from Baby Jogger and is great for travel and everyday use.
Falling into our lightweight plus category, the City Mini weighs in at a very reasonable 16.9 lbs. Set on a quality aluminum frame with the one of the fastest and easiest folds around and features for mom and baby alike, the City Mini is one of the best lightweight strollers around.

The seat is wide and roomy, making for a comfortable ride even for an older child. It has an excellent 5-point, padded harness that is easy to adjust to fit snugly on a small child yet big enough with room to grow for a larger child. With a weight capacity of 50 lbs, we can even let our 4 and 5 year olds to jump in for a ride. The seat is deep and set back almost over the rear wheels to give this lightweight, 3-wheel stroller great stability.
The City Mini sports an almost flat (150 degree) recline that is easy to recline with a strap system. When reclined, the seat is well ventilated with a large mesh window to allow air to flow through, and a drop down weather cover allows you to close the mesh back when the weather is cool or rainy.
Let's talk canopy!!! The City Mini canopy is GIGANTIC, and believe it or not, actually shades your child completely from the sun. The canopy is almost twice the size of most of stroller canopies on the market. Plus, the canopy has 2 peek-a-boo windows. It's that big! We can't say enough how much we LOVE this canopy!
For taller moms and dads, there is an extra high handle bar (it's not adjustable though) that will prevent you from kicking the frame. Underneath there is a medium size basket that has convenient side access since getting into the basket from the rear may be difficult with a fully reclined seat.
The City Mini has three 8-inch wheels and a suspension system that gives your little rider a very smooth ride. The maneuverability on this stroller is fabulous. It turns on a dime, is easy to push and can be controlled easily with one hand. We tested it at the top of its weight limit of 50 lbs and even though it took a bit more wrist power, we still weren't disappointed. Knowing that it's not meant to be an all-terrain stroller, we did find that it can handle bumpy roads, brick streets and small rocks but it might provide a bumpy ride for baby.
Our favorite feature besides the canopy is the easy, one-handed fold (patented "Quick-Fold" technology). Folding the City Mini couldn't be easier. All you have to do is pull up on the folding strap in the seat and the stroller folds flat. It's that easy! And by flat, we mean it's only about 8 inches (the size of the wheels) high when folded. There is also a manual lock on the side to keep it closed. We are able to take our child out of the stroller and while holding him in one arm, fold the stroller and throw it in the trunk of a car at the same time. It's just so convenient!
With its folded dimensions of 30.5" x 24.25" x 9", this stroller is a compact package that is easy to transport and fits in the smallest trunks. Our only minor complaint would be that the City Mini doesn't stand up on its own when folded.
Another great feature of the City Mini is that with an additional adapter it accepts most car seats to make it a travel system. The universal car seat adapter is designed to fit several car seats including, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, Britax Companion, and most Graco and Evenflo models.
