Bugaboo Launches Their First Double Stroller - The Donkey
September 15, 2010
It's what many, many parents have been waiting for! A double Bugaboo stroller that they can use with two children! That's right!!! Today Bugaboo has just announced their first double stroller - the Bugaboo Donkey! While the jury is out on whether we like the name "Donkey" (not very classy, right?) - it doesn't really matter because this stroller is so cool we don't really care what it is called!
The Donkey is innovative! The Donkey is fabulous! It has features you have NEVER seen on a stroller before! It makes the word "Donkey" cool! (Even though the first thing my husband said was "The Jackass Stroller, really?")
Here's the coolest thing about the Donkey: it can be a single stroller - expand to a double stroller - and then turn back into a single! Yep, you've heard and seen that before, right? Not the way Bugaboo does it! The stroller frame actually expands from a single to a side-by-side double! Plus, it's only 29 inches wide in doubles mode! Bugaboo, have you been reading our diary??
Want to get your hands on one of these babies? You'll be waiting until April 2011 for it to be available in the US at select retailers.

Here is some more information on the Donkey from Bugaboo:
The Bugaboo Donkey design meets two key parental needs: increased storage space and the option to convert to a side-by-side duo stroller for parents with two younger children or twins. The increased storage space includes an expandable side shopping basket and underseat basket - allowing parents to carry all their goods on the go. In the mono configuration, the Bugaboo Donkey is 23 inches wide, the same width as the Bugaboo Cameleon. In the duo configuration, the Bugaboo Donkey is 29 inches wide, making it the narrowest (luxury) side-by-side duo stroller.
Through Bugaboo's commitment and excellence in innovation and design, the Bugaboo Donkey is the perfect stroller for your first child, your first and second child, and twins. Bugaboo is honored to introduce the first iconic convertible stroller designed to grow with your family.
The Bugaboo Donkey is the first stroller on the market to be fully convertible to offer parents three possible configurations: mono, duo and twin. It offers the possibility of transforming a mono stroller to a duo configuration with the same comfort for all children. It is also the first stroller to be designed specifically to meet parents' needs for flexible and multiple storage space, courtesy of an expandable side shopping basket and underseat basket.
why did bugaboo choose for the name bugaboo donkey?
All Bugaboo strollers are named after animals like the Bugaboo Bee and Bugaboo Cameleon. The characteristics of a donkey perfectly reflect Bugaboo's new stroller as it's well known for its ability to carry both luggage and people with ease. They are also known for being faithful, intelligent and eager to learn.
when will the bugaboo donkey be available at retail?
The Bugaboo Donkey will be available in spring 2011 in the Netherlands, the UK, USA and Spain.
what are the dimensions of the bugaboo donkey?
and how does that compare to strollers?
The Bugaboo Donkey is the first stroller on the market to be fully convertible to offer parents three possible configurations: mono, duo and twin. In mono configuration the Bugaboo Donkey is 60 cm wide, which is the same width as the Bugaboo Cameleon. In duo configuration the Bugaboo Donkey is only 74 cm, which is the narrowest side by side duo stroller.
