The Only Breast Pump With One-Way Air Flow
Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Breast Pump's patented one-way airflow, pulsation
& stimulation provides maximum milk flow and ultimate comfort

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Handi-Craft Company, the creator of
Dr. Brown's Natural Flow products, is extending their healthy baby focus by
launching a line that supports breastfeeding mothers. Dr. Brown's Natural
Flow Breast Pump, utilizing Whittlestone(R) Hospital Technologies, is the
first pump to truly simulate a baby expressing milk. Other breast pumps
currently on the market utilize a Two-Way airflow, creating a "suck and
release" motion that tugs and pulls on the mother's nipple. Conversely,
when a baby is feeding at the breast, they express milk by latching, and
using soft compressions with their tongue, mouth and jaw. Similarly, the
Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Breast Pump's patented One-Way airflow in
combination with its unique ultra-soft honeycomb liner rhythmically
massages the areola, while gently compressing the nipple to increase
Prolactin and Oxytocin production, which ensures an increased milk supply,
better let down, and a healthier baby.
Dr. Jimi Francis, PhD, IBCLC advises many of the mothers she consults
to use the Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Breast Pump, "Breastfeeding and breast
pumping should be a positive experience for mothers. Because this pump
provides a comfortable, efficient pumping session, this helps maintain
long-term milk supply. Ultimately moms are happier and they remain
committed to breastfeeding for a longer period of time. Good for mom, great
for baby."
Unlike Two-Way airflow pumps that can push germs into the breast
through the open milk ducts, Dr. Brown's unique One-Way airflow
continuously draws air and any present germs away from the breast, thus
reducing the likelihood of breast infections. Additionally, the Dr. Brown's
Natural Flow Breast Pump is clinically proven to provide pain-free relief
of engorgement, an intense, painful swelling of the breasts.
"We are thrilled to bring the Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Breast Pump to
market. This product was truly developed with the health and comfort of mom
and baby in mind. We are committed to continuing development of products
that enable moms to breastfeed their babies for a longer period of time,"
affirms Carolyn Hentschell, COO of Handi-Craft Company.
A key feature of the Dr. Brown's pump is that it fits all Standard and
Wide-Neck Dr. Brown's Natural Flow baby bottles. Also, the pump's large
components allow for fast and easy setup, use and cleaning. The entire Dr.
Brown's Natural Flow Nursing line, which also includes, but is not limited
to, breast pads and breast milk storage bags, will be available in Babies R
Us and independent stores late summer 2006.
The manual pump retails for $49.99. Handi-Craft does plan to launch an
electric pump later in the year, however, the manual pump is just as
technologically advanced as the electric -- the only difference is the way
it's powered (hand vs. electricity).
Handi-Craft Company, makers of the Dr. Brown's Natural Flow baby bottle
brand, is dedicated to providing innovative, best-in-class products for mom
and baby. The new nursing line is highlighted by Dr. Brown's Natural Flow
Breast Pump, which features a patented technology originally developed by
Whittlestone Hospital Technologies.
Dr. Brown's Natural Flow products are widely recognized for their
technology and function. Most Dr. Brown's Natural Flow products are
available at Babies R Us, Toys R Us, Target, Wal-Mart and other baby
specialty, pharmacy and online retailers nationwide. For more information,
