Dreamer Design Ditto Manhattan Deluxe Jogging Stroller

Now, we aren't marathon runners by any means, but we know (in the back of our minds at least) that eating Edy's Dibs on the couch in front of the TV isn't going to drop any of those baby pounds, especially after kid #2. So, enters the jogging stroller. Even as casual "joggers" we know that even walking fast with a non-all-terrain stroller can be difficult if not hazardous.
Dreamer Design is one of the top jogging stroller companies and the Ditto Manhattan Deluxe Jogging stroller is a great example of why. The Ditto Manhattan is a double all-terrain/jogging stroller that is for the active mom of at least two children.
With a high total weight capacity of 100 lbs, we found that even our 6 year olds could jump in for a ride. The seats are roomy and complete with a secure, 5-point harness that we found is easily adjustable to fit a baby up to a 6 year old. (We do want to mention that you should never run with a baby under 6 months that cannot sit up unassisted.) We love that not only are the shoulder harnesses adjustable but the crotch strap is adjustable as well to give the child the most comfortable ride.

Each seat has an independent recline that allows the seat to go back to 30 degrees with an easy to do strap system. This allows one child to sit back and rest while the other sits upright and takes in the scenery. There is a large footplate with an easy to clean recessed leg area that is low enough and comfortable for even the older children.
Dreamer Design is known for their fabulous bubble sun canopies and the Ditto Manhattan is no exception. There are two independent sun canopies that are full rotating with a dual pivot system that allows the canopy to be placed in any position to block the sun no matter which way you are heading. Since we don't always jog when the sun is directly overhead, these canopies can rotate all the way down to the front of the seat if need be. We love this feature since we used to have to adjust our exercise route every time our 2 year old screamed "the sun in eyes, mommy!".
Jumping on board with the luxury strollers, this Dreamer Design has an adjustable handle up and down to accommodate taller and shorter parents. Since we are not all the same heights, we love this feature! The handle bar also has a safety wrist strap just in case you would like to take your hands off the bar without the risk of the stroller getting away from you.
There are two small baskets underneath the stroller that won't necessarily hold a diaper bag but will hold many baby essentials. To make up for the smaller baskets, there are 14 different pockets on the stroller ranging from 4 water bottle pockets to small pockets on the seats for your kids' goodies. Just know, that there isn't a shortage of storage space.
Now the most important feature you are probably wondering about is how easily does it maneuver? I know, we were concerned about running with a 36 lb stroller with two children strapped in as well. Let me assure you, you need not worry. The Ditto Manhattan glides along the road. The 12-inch front and the 16-inch rear air filled tires make this stroller very easy to push. The front tires are swivel wheels that make turning a breeze but also have the ability to lock straight with a handle bar lever. We appreciate the fact that we can lock and unlock the front wheels mid-stride as opposed to stopping and adjusting a lever or knob somewhere else on the stroller, because once we stop jogging, we just might not start again. There is also a rear footbrake that allows you to lock both rear tires with your foot by stepping on one bar.

At 36 lbs, we are not going to lie, this stroller is big. Needs-a-parking-spot-in-your-garage-big! If you are looking to buy a double all-terrain or jogging stroller you just have to deal with size. They are all big and all heavy! Jogging strollers are not usually made with daily trips to the mall in mind but are normally used the in the vicinity of your home. Transporting the stroller on a daily basis in your car or SUV can be tricky. Okay, you need an SUV or minivan for this stroller because it won't fit in many compact trunks. The wheels easily detach to make it more compact but you will still be lifting a large stroller over 30 lbs into and out of your car. We love the stroller at home but find it awkward to transport.
The stroller is narrower than many side-by-side jogging strollers but at 32 inches wide we found a few doors that it doesn't fit through. We took the stroller to the mall and after having to go through the double doors (it wouldn't fit through the single) we had no problem. That is until we tried to go into some of the smaller, boutique shops. Having to park the stroller in the middle of the store and shop in a circle around it, we did decide it isn't the best stroller for shopping. Jogging, yes, shopping, not so much. This doesn't make us love the Ditto Manhattan any less because we have our umbrella stroller for store outings.
The Ditto Manhattan comes in 2 different colors, uptown red and envy green and is complete with a lot of reflective fabric to keep it highly visible. We do want to note that the envy green is beautiful and we were pleasantly surprised to find out it is more like a moss or olive green rather than a lime green that it appears in pictures.
Retailing at around $450, this stroller is a mid-range priced double jogging stroller that has all the features of it's higher priced counterparts.
