Dreamer Design's answer to the Luxury Stroller Craze
In response to the luxury stroller craze, Dreamer Design has debuted its newest stroller, The Park Avenue. The Park Avenue is a lightweight, 3-wheel, all-terrain stroller that not only looks good but also has some pretty great features.

The first thing we noticed about the stroller is how lightweight it is. Even though it is said to weigh in at a total of 24 lbs (including the incredibly lightweight seat of 5 lbs), this stroller seems lighter to us than many other luxury strollers on the market.

The reversible seat is very easy to reverse so that baby can look at mom or see out at the world. Instead of just the back of the seat reclining like on other strollers, on the Park Avenue the entire seat reclines back easily with a one-handed recline lever. The seat keeps its wide "v" shape but does recline far enough back to be considered a flat position.

Dreamer Design's answer to the Luxury Stroller Craze
We did find the seat to be quite narrow at only 10 inches wide and with a seat back to canopy measurement of only 20 inches tall (17 inch seatback); the seat will not comfortably fit a large or tall toddler. Our 2-½ year old tester at 35 inches tall was quite cramped in the seat with her head hitting against the canopy top. A baby or younger toddler will easily fit in this seat though, and we love the infant insert that is included to keep your baby in place. Our 8-month tester, fit easily and enjoyed his comfortable ride. There is also an easy to do, 5-point, padded harness that keeps the rider secure.

The three, large, 12-inch, air-filled tires make for an incredibly smooth ride for baby and a very easy stroller to maneuver for mom. The front wheel is lockable for very light jogging, but this stroller is not suitable as an everyday jogger.

Since the stroller has large, air-filled tires and seems rather lightweight for a luxury stroller, the maneuverability is amazing. The stroller turns on a dime and is easy to push and control one-handed. It is even easy to push through gravel, small rocks and playground mulch.

Folding this stroller is simple and we love that if the handle bar is positioned correctly, it has a standing fold. There is also a strap on the left side to keep the stroller locked when closed. Unfolding the stroller isn't bad either. Unlock the strap, pull up on the handle bar, and shake to lock the stroller open. Technically, you could even do it with one hand. To make the stroller even more compact when folded, the rear wheels are easy to pop off with the push of a button. Since the stroller is lightweight, it is also easy to lift in and out of a vehicle trunk.

The canopy is large and shades the child sufficiently but doesn't come with the signature Dreamer Design "bubble canopy" that we love on their other strollers, which allows the canopy to be set in any position. It has a window for peeking and a great pocket on the back for storing. One suggestion we would make on this stroller is that Dreamer Design make the canopy taller, to give more room for the taller toddlers and to compensate for a short seat back

To satisfy the shortest and tallest of moms and dads, it has an adjustable handle that eliminates the "stroller hunch" and is easy to do with the push of two buttons. There is a large basket underneath that easily fits a large diaper bag but following suit with other luxury stroller companies, the Park Avenue is missing our beloved cup holder.

The Park Avenue comes in three great colors with easy to clean fabric. The color choices are: red, blue or camouflage with our favorite being red.

One difference between the Park Avenue and other high-end strollers is that we don't consider it a "luxury system" because it does not come with a bassinet. Many moms would appreciate this because the lower price reflects the missing bassinet. Also, for moms that would like to buy the stroller after the bassinet age of 0-4 months, they will like that they are not paying for a bassinet that they will not use. Not to worry though, for moms that love the great "celebrity pram feature" of a stroller bassinet, there is a matching one sold separately for $149.

Retailing at $299, this reversible seat "luxury stroller" is quite a bit cheaper than many of its competitors. With great maneuverability and ease of folding/unfolding, the Park Avenue would be a great stroller choice for parents of babies and very small toddlers.
