Baby Gizmo Visits the Lincoln Park Zoo

Sharing is caring!

Let’s head to the Lincoln Park Zoo! Looking for a great place to take the kids this summer? You should really consider Chicago. It is beautiful in the summer.

In the winter? Eh, not so much. But that’s another story – let’s stick to summer! In the Spring and Summer Chicago is packed with things to do for the kids.

The Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, American Girl Store, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Adler Planetarium, Six Flags Great America, Legoland Chicago and Lincoln Park Zoo are just a few of the great things to do in and around Chicago.

COST

Today we are focusing on the Lincoln Park Zoo. This downtown Zoo (in Lincoln Park to be exact!) is one of our favorite things to do in Chicago. It is open 365 days a year and it’s FREE!  Who doesn’t like free?!?

The only thing you have to pay for is parking, the carousel in the zoo and food. It’s easy to get to and if you don’t want to pay the $20 parking fee, there is usually open street parking (that is where we always park!).

LINCOLN PARK ZOO SIZE

It’s not the biggest zoo in the world but that is one reason we really like it. It’s a perfect, manageable size for the little ones. We can usually see the entire zoo in about 3 hours which is fine because that is when the kids get tired anyway. And this isn’t just a zoo.

They really keep this place hopping with all the events that they hold each year. From safaris to tours to light shows at Christmas, the Lincoln Park Zoo always seems to have a full calendar.

While we could just tell you everything that they have at the zoo, we thought we would show you a sneak peek video to give you an idea of what you’ll find there.

I miss living in Chicago so much! My DD loved the carousel and the popcorn the best at the LP Zoo but my favorite is the gorillas. They sit so close to the windows. It's truly amazing to be able to be so close to them. A membership gets you free parking in the lot and they also participate in a reciprocal program that gets you in for free or for a discount at other zoos around the country. We always rocked it out in our Bumbleride Flyer :)
