Behavior Books For Preschoolers

Sharing is caring!

I bought a set of these books a few years ago. They sat in the bookshelf, alone and rarely loved until now. Once I realized that: don’t bite, don’t hit, don’t scream, don’t kick (usually followed by the words “your brother”) were being understood, I dug to the back of the bookshelf and pulled these puppies out. We now read these books to our 3-year-old and have caught him quoting lines from each book. I’d like to think it’s working… or at least starting to. You know how they say kids listen better to anyone but their parents? I’m hoping the support from his preschool teachers and these books help back us as parents.

TEETH ARE NOT FOR BITING

Teeth are not for biting

I don’t have a biter but I know a few moms of biters. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Each kid has their own way of expressing their frustration, anger and emotions (and temper tantrums).

HANDS ARE NOT FOR HITTING

Hands Not for Hitting

This is one we read often. My 3-year-old is a pusher. Especially with his little brother.

FEET ARE NOT FOR KICKING

Oh and this one. If we catch him hitting or pushing, he’ll stop and resort to karate-like kicking.

WORDS ARE NOT FOR HURTING

Words are not for hurting

This is a great book to read to all kids. Bullying and hurtful words are not acceptable.

GERMS ARE NOT FOR SHARING

Germs are not for sharing

We don’t have this one (yet) but I laughed out loud when I saw it. We need it, we have 3 boys. Enough said.

TAILS ARE NOT FOR PULLING

tails are not for pulling

And if you have pets?
